Police are investigating after an 84-year-old motorist crashed and died after suffering a suspected "medical episode" at the wheel on Beaumont Hill yesterday.
The emergency services were called out on Saturday morning (10 June) following reports of a single-vehicle accident on the road in St. Peter.
The road was closed from 10:30 for around two hours while Police, firefighters and paramedics attended.
Police later confirmed in a statement: "Following on from the emergency services attending a single-vehicle road traffic collision this morning on Beaumont Hill, sadly the driver of the vehicle has subsequently died.
"It would appear that the driver, an 84-year-old male, has suffered a medical episode at the wheel."

They added that officers are now "investigating the incident and a report will be submitted to the Deputy Viscount".
The 84-year-old man has not yet been named.
