The JEP is launching a set of community of awards to mark their 125th anniversary.
The Pride of Jersey Awards will have 12 categories, including Grandparent of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Community Champion of the Year and Customer Service Employee of the Year.
They are looking for nominations from the public, and say that everyone who is nominated will be featured in the paper. The winners will be named at the end of the summer.
Each of the winners will get a prize worth £1,000 that has been put up by sponsors.
JEP Deputy Editor Carl Walker, who is organising the awards, said: “The key for us throughout this project - and looking ahead as it establishes itself as a major annual event on the Jersey calendar - is to keep the community at the heart of the whole process.
“The entire Island community is being invited to nominate people - either via the newspaper or online - and it is the community that will help us judge who the most deserving Islanders are. This will make our awards a true celebration of Island life.”
The awards are due to be held mid-September, after a summer of nominations and judging.
