Islanders can fly to Palma in Majorca throughout the summer season, with the return of a weekly service.

FlyDirect will offer direct flights from Jersey every Wednesday between May and October.

The flights will be operated using a 125 seat Boeing 717 jet aircraft.

Managing Director of FlyDirect Robert Mackenzie said: ‘For the first time in many years, we are pleased to be offering a jet service which will provide a travel time of just 2 hours. The opportunity to fly from Jersey direct to the Mediterranean sunshine on convenient daytime flights and avoid the congestion, extra cost and time involved when travelling via London or another UK airport, is proving more popular than ever.’

The direct flights will leave Jersey at 11 am with the return journey leaving Palma at 9.30 am.

As a special launch offer, the airline is offering a limited number of seats from £199 return per person with flights for children aged 11 or under from £99.
