New six-a-side football leagues for senior and junior players are being launched in June by the Jersey Football Association.
The ten-week “6ixer” leagues will be running from 1 June to 10 August at Springfield Stadium, and organisers say that it’s a great way to get more of the community stepping on to the hallowed turf at Jersey’s home of football.
The leagues are being run by Jack Langston and Paulo Martins, who said that the smaller sides would give young players a great chance to develop their skills.
Mr Langston said: “This is a great way to spend your summer playing football on Springfield Stadiums ‘New 3G’ pitch.
“Our aim is to create a fun and safe environment for people to enjoy 6 aside football.
“This is an opportunity I wish I had growing up, small sided football helps to develop and hone your skills on the pitch.”
The senior night will run from Wednesday 1 June, and the junior night – for 14-16 year olds – will run from Thursday 2 June.
