IN NUMBERS: Celebrating a decade of Andium Homes

Tuesday 02 July 2024

Jersey’s largest residential developer and landlord is looking back on a journey of "more than bricks and mortar" as it celebrates ten years of "creating places" for islanders.

Andium Homes was incorporated in July 2014 with the key remit of improving the standard of existing housing stock and increasing the supply of new homes.

The wholly States-owned but independent company is currently managing a portfolio of over 4,900 properties, serving more than 10,000 islanders.

Since it was incorporated, Andium has overseen the delivery of 1,000 new homes, the completion of over 300 major refurbishments and the initiation of almost 700 additional properties currently under construction.

It has also sought to improve maintenance standards and regenerate areas of the island with an investment of almost £600 million in new and existing homes.

"I am tremendously proud of our Andium colleagues"

The CEO of Andium Homes, Ian Gallichan, described the company's history as "more than bricks and mortar".

He said: "It’s been about creating places where families grow, and communities thrive.

"In addition to our rental offering, we are focused on making home ownership a reality for more people in Jersey, addressing the ever-increasing challenges islanders face in finding homes to rent or buy."

"We extend our gratitude to our clients, colleagues, partners and the Government of Jersey, who have been integral to our success.

"As we step into the next decade, we are committed to innovating our services, enhancing our portfolio, and strengthening our partnerships to meet the evolving needs of islanders.”

"Jersey’s social housing has transformed"

Housing Minister, Deputy Sam Mézec, congratulated Andium on the "landmark anniversary".

He said: "In the last ten years, Jersey’s social housing has transformed beyond recognition in a way which we should all celebrate."

"It was quite a journey"

Andrew Green, MBE  who was Housing Minister at the time of Andium's incorporation  said the team had "surpassed all my expectations".
