An "avid sauna user" is hoping to set up an array of outdoor 'pop-up' saunas across the island – starting in a picturesque spot in St. Ouen.
Named 'Sauna Society', the venture is the brainchild of Cole McLean, the Director of Outdoor Entertain Jersey.
Speaking of his love of saunas, he explained: "It has huge benefits on my physical and mental wellbeing... It's like a high, you feel so good."
Cole isn't the only one. Despite the sauna phenomenon being widely associated with Scandinavia, it has been growing in popularity in the UK in recent years.
The British Sauna Society, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes and develops sauna culture, has identified 56 mobile - or 'pop-up' – saunas in the UK, and the number continues to grow year on year.
Now, Cole is hoping to get the ball rolling in Jersey.

His first pop-up sauna is due to appear in the carpark south of the Watersplash, this month.
It will be a traditional Finnish woodburning sauna, and will feature a large glass window looking out over the sea. The sauna site will also be equipped with cold showers, and a "cold plunge tank" filled with ice.
Cole said: "It's an ideal spot for it... It's an area for sea swimmers, surfers, people into their wellbeing."
The St. Ouen sauna will be open for communal sessions for up to six people, or private bookings for up to eight.
To start with, Cole recommends that users enjoy a 10 minute spell in the sauna, before taking either a cold shower or an icy plunge. They should do this three or four times.

There are numerous health benefits that have been associated with sauna use. Saunas aid relaxation, which can help improve cardiovascular health, and have also been demonstrated to ease muscle pain.
If the St. Ouen sauna is successful, Cole hopes to be able to turn his attention to town.
"So far, we've got lots of great feedback about the idea. I think it'll give people something to do during their lunch break," he said.
