A pathologist was expected to arrive in the island this week to help identify the body found in Jersey waters last week.
A police investigation is taking place after the body of a man in his 40s was recovered by a trawler on Wednesday 15 January.
There has not yet been any confirmation as to whether the body is that of a British man who went missing on a ferry during a crossing from Portsmouth to St Malo earlier this month.
In an update, a States of Jersey police spokesperson said that a pathologist was expected to arrive in Jersey this week “to facilitate the identification of the male found and contribute to the ongoing police investigation in consultation with the Coroner’s office”.
