A male pedestrian was taken to hospital at the weekend following a collision with a car near the bus station.
In an appeal for information, police said that a white Mini Cooper heading west collided with the man on the zebra crossing between Liberation Square and Conway Street.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon at around 13:46.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which will require surgery.
Anyone who may have seen the collision or who has any information is being asked to contact the police on 612612.
