Part of police headquarters had to be evacuated this morning and the surrounding road closed after a member of the public brought in two historic bomb devices.
Just before 09:00 this morning, two historic incendiary devices were brought into the building by a member of the public who wanted to declare the devices and seek some advice.
However, police subsequently had to close La Route du Fort and evacuate sections of Police Headquarters for safety reasons.
The Bomb Disposal Officer (BDO) was called to safely remove and discharge the devices.
The road has now been reopened and staff have returned to their offices.
In a statement issued following the incident, police said: "We must remind the public that if they find any such items, to leave them in situ and to call police so that qualified personnel can attend and safely remove them."
