A Jersey Police officer has been suspended and an internal investigation is now being carried out, Express has learned.
Jersey Police have confirmed that the officer is now on leave, while the inquiries are made.
A spokesperson declined to reveal the name, age, rank or gender of the officer and details of the suspension. Express understands, however, that it is a male officer, and it's believed the investigation is into the use of data.
In a short statement, the Police said: “One of our officers has been suspended while we undergo an investigation. As the matter is under investigation we are unable to identify the officer concerned or discuss the matter further at this stage.
“Suspension is considered prudent to allow the matter to promptly and impartially be investigated and the process of suspension remains under constant review.”
