The president of Alderney is visiting Jersey today.
Stuart Trought, the president of the States of Alderney, is in the Island today and tomorrow to meet Chief Minister Ian Gorst and other States Members.
He is also due to meet the Bailiff, Sir Michael Birt, and Lieutenant Governor, General Sir John McColl.
The visit has been described by the Chief Minister’s department as part of an ongoing programme of engagement between Jersey and its fellow Crown Dependencies.
Mr Trought spent over 30 years in the shipping and oil industry, working in regions including the Middle East and west Africa, before retiring in 2000.
He has served as chairman of Alderney Renewable Energy and is a Freeman of the City of London and the chairman of the Alderney branch of the RNLI.
