Q&A: The £10,000 reward

Thursday 02 June 2016

With the search for missing Adrian Lynch about to hit the six-month point, an anonymous donor has come forward to offer a reward of up to £10,000 for any information that leads the police to the missing 20-year-old.

Crimestoppers say that the money has been offered in the hope that it might create new leads for the police to follow-up, and might get them closer to resolving the case.

Q – Who is offering the reward?

A – The donor has chosen to remain anonymous – they contacted the Lynch family to offer their support, but they were not previously known to the family.

Q – What is the reward for?

A – The reward would be paid out if someone comes forward with information that leads to Adrian being found.

Q – How can people claim the reward?

A – They can either contact the police on 612612 or the anonymous Crimestoppers number 0800 555111 or the Crimestoppers number.

Q – Can people claim the reward anonymously?

A – Yes, through Crimestoppers. Anyone offering information can request a unique code, and then get in touch with them late on to see if the information has led to the resolution of the case. If it has, they can arrange to collect the money from a bank, using the same code.

Q – What have the Lynch family said about the reward?

A – They have expressed their gratitude to the donor who came forward to offer support – Adrian’s stepmother Sharon said that they cried when the offer was made, and said that they could not say how grateful they were.

Q - What has happened so far?

A - The reward was announced at 2 pm yesterday, and already the police have received six calls that they say that they are going to work through. They have emphasised that it's too early to say if any of them are significant.
