Registry office loses wedding and civil partnership bookings

Monday 10 February 2014

Couples planning to have their wedding or civil partnership at Jersey’s Registry Office this year will have to re-book because the States have lost their booking details.

This year’s appointments have been lost following an internal data error. Anyone who lives in the Island who hasn’t already been contacted by the Office of the Superintendent Registrar is being asked to get in touch to re-confirm the details.

The Superintendent Registrar Sue Groves said: “This call is a final check to make completely certain that we have all the correct details for ceremony bookings for Islanders at the Royal Square office. We only need to hear from people who are resident in Jersey, have a booking but have not yet reconfirmed the details with us. If you haven’t heard from us and you have a completed marriage appointment form, please get in touch.”

Anyone who hasn't already heard from the office is asked to get in touch via email using the address on the marriage appointment slip, issued by the Office when the booking was originally made.

Couples who do not live in Jersey, or who have booked a civil marriage or partnership which is taking place at a venue other than the Registry Office in the Royal Square do not need to reconfirm.
