islanders are being given another chance to win a voucher to go towards the price of an electric bike.
Starting tomorrow, the vouchers can be won through a random draw being run by the Government, the second of its kind intended to increase the use of e-bikes.
Depending on the make and wattage, most e-bikes cost anywhere between £2,000 and £6,000. The vouchers range from £300 towards a standard e-bike, to £600 for an e-cargo bike and adapted e-cycle.
The first random draw, which took place in January, received 1,800 applications. Those who were unsuccessful the first time around will have to apply again.
A total of £300,000 has been allocated to the scheme for its two-year duration, aiming to incentivise behaviour change away from car journeys to this low emission alternative way of getting around.

The Assistant Minister with responsibility for energy and climate change matters, Deputy Hilary Jeune, said: “Transport remains our biggest on-Island source of carbon emissions, and this is something we’re absolutely committed to reducing by supporting Islanders to make the switch away from petrol and diesel-powered vehicles.
“We’ve had great feedback from those who were successful in the first draw, telling us how their voucher gave them the nudge and help they needed to buy their e-bike, with others telling us they use theirs every day now."
Applications for the second random draw open tomorrow, Tuesday 18 April, at 09:00 and will remain open for one week. Islanders can enter the draw HERE.
