“Sincerest sympathy” from dead boy’s school

Monday 06 July 2015

The head teacher of Victoria College says that the school has extended “its sincerest sympathy” to the family of the 16-year-old pupil who died yesterday morning.

Alun Watkins has issued a statement after police announced the death of the boy.

The dead teen and three teens arrested on suspicion of his murder yesterday were all Victoria College students.

A fourth teen was arrested early yesterday evening – it’s not clear whether he also goes to the school.

Mr Watkins’ statement said: “Following the tragic events of this weekend, Victoria College would like to extend its sincerest sympathy to the family of the boy concerned.

“Our priority at this time is to support our students, their families and our staff, and appropriate support is being put in place.

“The school is working very closely with the States of Jersey Police on the ongoing investigation and, in view of this, there will be no further comment from the school at the moment.”
