A police dog is being used in the search for missing islander Thomas Frost, police have confirmed, and officers will be conducting road checks in the area he was last seen tonight - one week on since his disappearance.
The 51-year-old has not been seen since around 22:00 last Saturday, at his parents' address, situated on a lane above L'Etacq in St. Ouen.
A specialist team of around 30 detectives and search officers has been put together to look for him. A specialist search expert from Guernsey has now also been called in to support Jersey's own Police Search Advisor.
The Force's efforts have so far included searches of open land and shallow water, checks across the north- and south-west coastlines, house-to-house enquiries, use of drones, and now a sniffer dog.

Channel Islands Air Search also conducted an aerial sweep of the area Mr Frost was last seen, and Jersey Fire and Rescue Service's Inshore Lifeboat has been used to search the Val de la Mare reservoir.
Tonight, officers will be out stopping and talking to motorists and pedestrians between 22:00 and 02:00 in the area near to where Mr Frost was last seen a week ago.
They'll be focused on Le Mont Huelin and Mont Pinel in St. Ouen "in the hope that someone who walks or drives this route regularly may know something they haven't realised is important." Police say they hope their appearance "may jog someone's memory".

Mr Frost is 51 years old, 5ft 10, of medium build with greying hair. It’s believed that he is wearing a crimson red t-shirt underneath a navy shirt with white buttons and navy jeans. He also may be wearing a light grey hoodie over his shirt and it is still thought that he didn’t have shoes on him when he disappeared.
Islanders are being encouraged to check their sheds, gardens and outbuildings, and share any CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage that could be helpful to the investigation.
