Some jobs are just too good to be true!

Saturday 04 April 2015

Looking for a new job has just got a whole lot harder now another scam is doing the rounds.

Police are warning Islanders to watch out for lucrative local jobs being advertised on professional networking sites that don't actually exist.

They say the scammers are asking people to complete a "British Embassy UK Visa form", costing £800 when there's no sign of a salary in return.

Inspector Dave Burmingham said: "We are putting this notice out to not only warn people about this specific scam but also to remind people to be alert to scams in general. If an offer appears too good to be true, it probably is. We would like to remind people never to agree to send off money, give out bank account or credit card details, nor part with personal information to strangers online. Unless you are completely sure of any transaction, do not enter into any agreement with any person or company."
