Wednesday 22 June 2022

Deirdre Mezbourian has been returned as the Constable of St. Lawrence with 934 votes - while her challenger secured 633 votes.

Having served in the St. Lawrence Honorary Police from 1999, Deirdre Mezbourian became a Deputy in 2005. In 2008 she became a Constable, and has gone on to serve four terms.

She was recently Chair of the Comité des Connétables, as well as a member of the Planning Committee, States Employment Board and Bailiff's Consultative Panel, and recently was on the Steering Group that oversaw the Carbon Neutral Strategy.

The Constable has also previously been an Assistant Minister for Home Affairs, and served and led several Scrutiny panels including Education and the Privileges and Proedures Committee.

Standing against her was Emily Joseph, a St. Lawrence volunteer with a background in retail and hospitality.
