Stormy start as winds batter the Island

Wednesday 02 March 2016

Hold on to your hats or better still stay indoors this morning as Jersey Met have advised while the Island is being battered by severe gale force 9 winds.

They issued a Red warning - their highest - just after 8 am this morning because of the west north west winds with guests to 80 mph expected over the next six hours.

Rush hour saw scattered squally rain and hail showers and there's a risk of thunder today although we should also see some fair periods today too.

Condor Ferries say passengers due to sail on the Clipper might see more delays today because of the weather.
