672 Jersey students’ finance grants were delayed this week due to an administrative error.
The government said that payments were one day late for 650 dependent students, who received their student finance grant on Tuesday 4 April instead of Monday 3 April.
A further 22 independent students’ payments were delayed until today (Wednesday 5 April).
The Student Finance team were made aware on Monday evening that students had not received their payments, and transferred the grants via faster payment.
According to the government, the process has now been streamlined to avoid problems in the future.
Parents have received direct information and support via phone and email. Updates have regularly been posted to the Student Finance Facebook page.
56 independent students haven’t received their maintenance payments yet because they have not provided their documentation yet.
Student Finance say that these students will receive their payments when their paperwork is complete.
