Police have named the 68-year-old woman who died following stab wounds last night, sparking a murder investigation.
Pamela Margaret Nisbet was taken to the hospital's Emergency Department, but later died of her wounds.
In a statement, Police said they were called by the Ambulance Service to the suspected stabbing at a home in St. Peter around 18:56 yesterday (Tuesday 6 August).
Armed officers arrived at 19:05, and arrested a 40-year-old man, who remains in Police custody. The suspect was known to Mrs Nisbet.
Officials said no one else is being sought in relation to the investigation, and that Mrs Nisbet's family have been made aware.
