Girls at JCG will be busting some moves with some of Britain’s top hip-hop dancers today.
Unity UK Academy who made it to this year’s final of Sky 1’s Got to Dance competition will be hosting a masterclass at the school as well as judging the students as they take centre stage and compete in their own dance contest on the last day of term.
The dance troupe is in the Island this week to make a guest appearance at the Dance World Cup’s Supernova charity at Jersey Opera House in aid of Jersey Macmillan Cancer Support Group.
But the school girls can't wait for the troupe's talented choreographer Tashan Muir to see them in action first.
JCG’s Head of House Jess Wright said: “When I learned Tashan was in the Island it was just too good an opportunity to miss. We are thrilled that he has agreed to not only judge our Top of the Pops (TOTP) competition but also host a dance workshop which will give our students a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Isabell Allen, famous for playing the young Cosette in the film version of Les Misérables, is also appearing in Supernova alongside some local talent, at the Opera House on Thursday 18 December.
