Islanders of "sound and fair judgment" are being invited to apply for one of Jersey's oldest and most important judicial roles.
With Jurat Charles Blampied due to retire, a vacancy has arisen for the important honorary position which dating back to the 13th Century.
Jurats are finders of fact and sentence in court cases, but also play an important role in elections as Returning Officers, as well as being members of the Licensing Assembly, which decides whether liquor licences should be granted.
The office is open to any British citizen over the age of 40, who have been resident in the island for at least the last five years. Jurats normally serve until age 72.
Anyone interested in taking on the role has until Monday 28 February to apply by sending a one-page CV to Debbie Le Mottée.
If there is more than one candidate, there will be a meeting of the Electoral College at 09:30 on Tuesday 8 March. The successful candidate will then be sworn in at 13:30 on Friday 18 March.
If there is only one candidate, they will be sworn in on Tuesday 8 March.
