The reboot of beloved Jersey-based detective drama Bergerac will air in February, it has been confirmed – as the trailer for the new series was released this morning.
The six-episode series – commissioned by BBC-owned broadcaster UKTV – filmed in Jersey for several weeks this summer, with Bouley Bay, La Pulente, the Royal Square and Central Market among the locations used.
Filming also took place in the UK and wrapped in the autumn.
Images of Irish actor Damien Molony in the lead role of Jim Bergerac against the scenic backdrop of La Corbière had already been released, and more recently released images also confirmed the return of the iconic Triumph Roadster.
But the first video trailer for the series has been released this morning, with enticing snippets ranging from a bloody crime scene to a wild chase through Jersey's market.

Producers of the new show, which was first announced in April, said it promises a "contemporary twist" on the popular detective drama created by Robert Banks Stewart, which starred John Nettles and ran on the BBC between 1981 and 1991.
Unlike the original hit from the 80s, the new series will see one character-led murder mystery run across all six 60-minute episodes, in place of a new storyline each episode.
It is being directed by Peaky Blinders director Colm McCarthy and also stars Zoë Wanamaker (My Family and Harry Potter), who will play the role of Jim's mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford in a change from the original series, alongside Philip Glenister (Life on Mars) as Arthur Wakefield. Jersey-born actor Timothy Renouf, who previously starred in a Very British Scandal alongside Claire Foy and Paul Bettany, also features in the series.

Tricia Warwick, CEO of Visit Jersey, which has supported the filming, said her team were "immensely proud of the warm welcome" that cast and crew received from islanders – some of whom starred as extras, in-keeping with the original version.
"The modern re-imagining of Bergerac presents a fantastic opportunity to showcase Jersey on the global stage, connecting with devoted fans of the original series and a new generation of viewers eager to visit the locations featured in the show," she added.
As well as encouraging tourism, Economic Development Minister Kirsten Morel has previously spoken of hopes that the series could be a "catalyst" for creating Jersey's very own screen commission. Express previously explored how realistic the island's own film industry could be here.
The series will air in February 2025 on U and U&DRAMA.
