The daughter of well-known pig farmer who is recovering from a stroke has raised more than £10,000 for charity after completing her first half-marathon.
Jon Hackett's daughter, Kate Hackett, crossed the line of Sunday’s Hospice 2 Hospice race after 2 hours 20 mins of running.
In doing so, she raised money for Jersey Stroke Support - a local charity which helps stroke survivors and their families.
Mr Hackett – whose pigs, poultry and shop along Route des Genets is a familiar part of the St. Brelade landscape – suffered a stroke on 11 November, which has affected his speech and mobility.
Since then, the 75-year-old has been recovering at the assessment and rehabilitation centre on Samarès Ward at Overdale, although he moves to Jersey Cheshire Home this week.

He was, however, on the finish line at Clarkson House to cheer his daughter home.
Miss Hackett had initially set a fundraising target of £500 but raised it to £7,500 after an overwhelming response.
She even surpassed that figure by race day.
Miss Hackett, along with her mum Jenny, brother Jono and daughter Ella, is running the family ‘Me and the Farmer’ business at Brooklands Farm.
After completing the 13.1-mile challenge, she said: “It was an amazing experience and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
“I’m proud of my achievement and time of 2hrs 20 mins; I am not an experienced runner and to accomplish this was just incredible."
She added: “My family have been fantastic throughout and had organised a surprise for me at the finish line, which was my wonderful dad who came out in full force to cheer me on.
“I cannot find the words to describe the emotion I felt when I saw dad - I’m so incredibly proud of him and to be his daughter.
“It was an honour to have run the half for him and to have raised such an enormous sum of money for the charity, to which we hold close to our hearts.”
