‘Wild’ new shop to open at airport

Monday 07 February 2022

A ‘wild’ new shop offering furry friends and eco-conscious gifts will be launching in Jersey Airport’s departures lounge.

Jersey Zoo will be taking over a 63msq retail unit, which is due to open in April 2022, and recruitment is underway for staff.

Ports of Jersey CEO Matt Thomas said this was the first step in a "longer-term" partnership focused on sustainability, and that more would be shared on those plans "soon".

Durrell CEO Dr Lesley Dickie added: "We are thrilled to be opening a shop outside of Jersey Zoo, where visitors and locals can purchase items, which will really help to support Durrell's vision of a wilder, healthier more colourful world. Everyone can do play their part and now it's even easier to support Durrell if you're travelling through the airport."

She added: "Expanding our retail offering is also the first step of our exciting partnership with Ports of Jersey. They are working on some ambitious sustainability goals and we are delighted to be with them on this journey."
