A woman in her 80's was knocked down in Library Place this morning.
Police, ambulance and firefighters were all called to the scene of the accident not long after 10 am.
The road was closed by police, and traffic was diverted through town.
One witness said that the lady - aged 87 - had been hit by a black pick-up van, possibly while reversing.
She was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.
The male driver of the vehicle - a man aged 48 - has been spoken to by police.
