From ski slopes to shopping centres, this Year 10 student has a lot of suggestions about how to improve island life.
At school, JCG student Sadie Taylor's favourite subjects are physics, DT and maths.
When she isn't doing homework, she loves karate, music, CCF, chess and water-polo.
After spending two weeks completing her Trident Work Experience at Express, Sadie reflected on the ways she would like to improve the lives of people living in Jersey.
Here's what she had to say...
Lots of young people find Jersey very boring as there are hardly any activities for them to do, especially in the winter.
If we were to build a dry ski slope on the hill down from Fort Regent then it could be the perfect activity for someone to do on their weekend.
It would also be available to use all year round. Skiing is a fun activity that you could do alone, or with friends!
It would be expensive to build, however I believe that the money could easily be made back with lots of people spending hours of their days there.
Whenever I go on holiday, one of the main things that I look forward to is going shopping. This is because Jersey has hardly any good shops.
I would love to see a shopping centre with Primark, H&M or even Tesco, but unfortunately that seems to be impossible on our little island.
I can't remember the last time a famous singer or band came to perform in Jersey.
People travel all over the globe with their music, but the closest they ever get to Jersey is always either France or England. This makes me disappointed because if I want to go to see a signer or band, then I have to book a holiday. The concert itself is already expensive enough!
Whenever I go away and someone asks me where I am from, I have resorted to saying England. This is because whenever I say Jersey I always get the same response: "New Jersey?" or "America!"
I feel like if our island was better known then we would have more people visit. It would create more fun opportunities for islanders and it would also boost the economy!
Jersey has lots of natural sources that we could use for energy like water, wind and sun.
I believe that we should make use of these sources by building more wind farms, solar panels and tidal energy generators.
They may be expensive to build, but it would save a lot of money long term.
When I went over to Guernsey, I was surprised to see water refill stations almost everywhere I went.
It was very useful because it meant that I didn't have to spend money on plastic bottles of water.
I believe that if Jersey introduced water refill stations in popular public spaces then it would reduce the amount of plastic bottles and encourage people to use reusable ones.
