A teenage markswoman was crowned Sports Person of the Year 2023 at the Jersey Sports Council Awards after winning a public vote.
Libby Hart took home the top prize at the event which was held at the Jersey Rugby Football Club last night.
Individuals and teams from 14 different sports were nominated for their sporting achievements and seven separate sports won at these awards which were established in 1976.

The top prize was presented to the markswoman by Sports Minister Andy Jehan.

Last year, the JCG student won a spread of competitions, becoming the youngest and first woman to win the Senior Channel Islands Full Bore Rifle Championship, Gold-Medallist at the Island Games in the Senior 10m Air Rifle Championships and Silver-Medallist in the Pairs event.
She has also been invited to join the British National Squad.
Libby faced a stiff challenge from other nominees Asa Tribe, who had starred for Jersey Cricket in overseas competitions; Lucy O'Sullivan who won five gold medals at the Island Games; British Table Tennis champion Hannah Silcock; British gold medal winning Sprint Rowing champion Natacha Searson; and youth Olympic and Commonwealth games medallist Filip Nowacki.
The team won after a public vote as a reward for their success in the Island Games where they dominated the medal table with 11 medals in total, five gold medals, two silver and four bronze, which was four more than their nearest rivals, the Faroe Islands.
In his first ever Coastal Rowing event, Hector won gold in the U19 British Rowing Beach Sprint Championships.
He has also been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Rowing and World Rowing Beach Sprint Championships.
At the Jersey Motor Rally in October 2023, James won his class and came first overall.
In July 2023, the team took part in their first 11-a-side tournament in Wales, playing against representative teams from Wales, England, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
With victories against Scotland and Wales, but defeats to England and Northen Ireland, Jersey finished second overall on goal difference.
On the Sunday, there was a separate tournament featuring England, Wales and Scotland, which Jersey won without conceding a goal.
This trophy recognises a lifetime involvement with sport and this year went to Ron Halliwell in recognition of his involvement with Netball, Football and Cricket.
Rose Hill was crowned the "unsung hero" of sport for all the work she undertakes supporting women's cricket.
