The Curtain Up Theatre Group is delighted to be able to bring this classic TV favourite to Jersey in aid of Alzheimers Research.
This brilliant stage production of The Vicar of Dibley is a selection of scenes from the original TV classic production knitted together making a fabulously funny play. It is full of wit, comedy, pathos and fun.
The Vicar of Dibley is a typical British 'sit com'....We treasure these classics because we all recognise at least one of the characters. They are typical of our village heritage..... all quite eccentric, and larger than life, with hearts to match that you will immediately love. We all know a Mrs Cropley.... who brings 'offerings' to the Village Fete each year that we would be wise to avoid, …. we all know an Owen.... or possibly not! Certainly we all know and love the ridiculously 'dippy' Alice..... who is desperately in love with Hugo, the son of the Lord of the Manor.....who is NOT open to change.... especially a WOMAN vicar! Heaven preserve us!! However whoever they are they fill us with laughter, joy and a warm comfortable feeling.
The production is in aid of Alzheimers Research, who are making massive strides forward in combating this dreadful desease.
The Curtain Up Theatre Group have been raising funds for Alzheimer Charities since 2003 when we brought the wonderfully funny play Stepping Out to Jersey, followed by A Slice of Saturday Night in 2006, then the unforgettable sell out production of 'Allo 'Allo, another wonderful typically british comedy classic. We hope this production of The Vicar of Dibley will be as successful.
The production thanks Trinity Church for its support.
