After an unexpected absence, this 3-day maritime showcase takes place in and around St Helier Marina and Weighbridge Place from the afternoon of Friday 10 June to Sunday 12 June and once again promises something for everyone.

The show remains the largest free-entry public event in the Channel Islands and will feature activities both on and off the water, with a multitude of watercraft to view in St Helier Marina, displays and demonstrations in the Geomarine Outdoor & Active Zone, musical entertainment on the Solent Stevedores Main Stage, as well as a range of marine and lifestyle related exhibitors along the quayside. Your taste buds are also in for a treat with a multitude of catering and refreshment outlets throughout the arena.

This year, with the Barclays Jersey Boat Show opening on Friday at 1pm; why not take a long lunch and sample some of the delicious food on offer, finish work early or come along after work to check out what’s happening. It’s a great opportunity to connect with family and friends, sit back, relax, and soak up the atmosphere. The show will be open until 8pm on Friday and will feature a public performance by the Band of the Island of Jersey in Weighbridge Place at 7pm.

A new feature at the 2022 Barclays Jersey Boat Show is our “In Conversation With…” programme. This is an opportunity to meet several maritime related guests who will take part in an informal chat with our host, TV journalist and broadcaster, Lucy Cotter.

Lucy’s guests over the weekend will include Rear Admiral Jude Terry OBE who is the first female officer from the Royal Navy to hold such a position and she happens to be a Jersey girl. She will also be chatting with rowers Peter Wright and Steve Hayes who plan to row the Atlantic Ocean later this year, as well as representatives from the RNLI and Jersey Coastguard giving some sea safety advice. Ports of Jersey will share their sustainability plans for the future and if you want to learn how to make the perfect cocktail, don’t miss our session with the Secret Bar Tender, when he’ll offer advice and demonstrate making cocktails and mocktails.

As organisers of this large event, we understand our responsibility to adopt greener practices and lead the way towards holding an event that is environmentally conscious and provides enjoyment for all, whilst ensuring that our coastline and waters remain intact for the future enjoyment of all mariners. One of our key aims is to reduce the use of single use plastics and polystyrene. All exhibitors have been provided with an eco-guide outlining ways in which they can help us in achieving this and our thanks to them or their efforts so far.

We have also created a dedicated Ports of Jersey sustainability area in the Outdoor & Active Zone on the Albert Pier, sharing some of our sustainability plans with a range of interactive stalls. These include the chance to have a go with an underwater ROV from the school’s SeaPerch competition, try out our new CarbonPass app, which allows you to balance your carbon footprint when travelling by plane or ferry, discover ways we are making our marinas more creature friendly and much more. We’ll also be joined by our charity partners, along with Ollie Voak and Megan Roworth who are bringing their Hobie Cat, which will be taking part in the Hobie 16 World Championship in September.

There is so much going on over the three days, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Don’t miss out on anything by visiting our website – jerseyboatshow.com, as well as following us on our social media channels.
